About Alena Wigodner

I am a PhD student in archaeology with a concentration in archaeology of the Mediterranean world. I received my B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis in 2014 and my M.A. from the University of Arizona in 2017. My area of focus is Roman colonialism, specifically in the western Roman provinces. I am interested in colonial culture change and expressions of cultural identity in colonial contexts. Currently, my research focuses on gendered experiences of colonialism in the Roman West.
